Steady hands, clear focus, and a technician who makes things seem effortless—because he’s already solved the problems you didn’t know existed.
Since 2019, Ben Lewandowski has been part of the technical backbone of English Touring Theatre Company (ETTC), where he built a reputation for precision, adaptability, and calm under pressure.
In 2024, he began working with KITE Theater—and quickly became someone we relied on for the most complex technical moments.
Ben first joined us for Mind Prey at the Białoprądnicki Cultural Center in Krakow, managing both the setup and live operation.
He returned for Between Heaven and Earth, where his clarity and focus behind the scenes helped hold together a multi-layered, technically demanding production. Whether integrating last-minute changes, adjusting lighting or audio setups on the fly, or ensuring everything runs smoothly once the audience is in their seats—Ben brings the kind of quiet confidence that settles an entire room.
But his role at KITE doesn’t end there.
Ben is also the lead technician and operator for SITFY Poland, the International Theatre Festival co-founded by KITE.
Across both festival editions, Ben has not only run the opening and closing ceremonies with polish and precision—he’s been the go-to support system for every participating company. He assists international teams and their technicians as they adapt to new venues, troubleshoot unfamiliar gear, or face language and time constraints. His ability to calmly coordinate across multiple stages, setups, and shows—often simultaneously—has become one of the technical pillars of the festival.
What sets Ben apart isn’t just his fluency with equipment and cues—it’s his temperament. Perfectly organized, quietly observant, and endlessly flexible, he responds to challenges before anyone else even notices them. Directors breathe easier knowing he’s in the booth. Performers feel held by his attention. Teams new to the space find in him a generous, steady guide.
He doesn’t seek attention. But when he’s in the room, things just work.
We’re lucky he’s in ours.
